北京时间2006年2月9日上午，第48届格莱美奖颁奖盛典在美国“天使之城”洛杉矶的斯台普斯中心举行。欧美流行乐坛众多大腕盛装出席了此次年度流行音乐盛事，颁奖典礼现场星光闪耀，精彩纷呈。格莱美奖评选范围是2004年10月1日到2005年9月30日期间唱片工业体系发行的所有唱片。
大名鼎鼎的格莱美盛典，吸引了无数音乐人和乐迷的眼球，在今年的“年度唱片奖”的争夺中，绿日乐队(Green Day)的《Boulevard Of Broken Dreams》“意外”战胜了风头正劲的Mariah Carey和Kanye West而最终获奖。本应该在去年就拿到本项大奖但最终惜败于雷．查理斯(Ray Charles)的Green Day得到了唱片工业学院的补偿。
