1999年7月11日，中国女足在洛杉矶玫瑰碗体育场参加女足世界杯决赛时，虽以点球失利，但全场华人观众同声高唱《玫瑰玫瑰我爱你》，全场响彻“Rose rose I love you”的歌声，场面非常感人，却让人领略到另一种的壮丽。中国女足也因此被称为“铿锵玫瑰”。
