John Denver: 1943年12月31日－1997年10月12日. 是一名美国乡村音乐作曲家以及音乐人，曾经在70年代以许多脍炙人口的歌曲红极一时的歌手，他录制以及发行的歌曲超过300首，约有一半的歌是由他作曲，1977年，被称为“科罗拉多的桂冠诗人”。他曾获得过许多奖项：葛莱美奖、美国音乐奖、乡村音乐协会奖、乡村音乐学院奖、艾美奖、美国十大杰出男人等等。
读书时曾很喜欢他唱过的《乡村之路》，被感动得一蹋糊涂。
刚来美时，我住在Pacific Grove，靠近海边。在那里度过了一段慵懒、无所是事的日子。当时思乡得很厉害，对家里的老父亲，弟弟、亲朋好友的想念总在脑子里挥之不去。为解这苦闷，我每天都会去到海边，在沙滩上，面向着海，一坐几小时，想像自己随着太平洋的海水，回到了家乡。有时我沿着海滩，漫无目的地走着。
海滩上有许多大小不一的岩石，有一块岩石有些与众不同，几乎每天有路过的人，采些野花放在那岩石边上，我还见过许多次，三两人坐在岩石边的木椅上，弹吉他唱歌。这块不大的岩石上嵌着一个方形的牌子，上面有 John Denver 的头像，并写着1997年10月12日，他在此遇难。并有几行歌词，非常简单。
回到家，我从网上搜索到曾让我很感动的《乡村之路》和他其他的歌曲，我一首接着一首的听着，我那浸满乡愁，脆弱不堪的神经，在 John Denver 的歌声里慢慢融化了。恍如隔世的、未知的快乐感动着我，我被那条并不存在的乡间小路带回家，甚至天堂。
今天午后，偶然又听到 John Denver 的歌，《Sunshine on My Shoulders》，再次感动，收录在此，与大家分享。
