Almamegretta are the masters of "contaminated sound," (contaminazione) which is, on this album, the fusion of pop, trip-hop, and hip hop with Neapolitan rhythms and vocal styles. They do an excellent job of blending the elements of Southern Italian music with basically everything else on earth, and the result is a bunch of provocative, fascinating sounds. They also sing in a Neapolitan dialect, which is the perfect accent for their music. They mix in some English (and occasionally French and African languages), but the cocky, menacing, and lolling sounds of Naples are something you've got to hear.
