红芳紫粉终将尽，或是凋零，或是飞升，无影无踪随意行。
落花流水干卿事，不问娉婷，又问娉婷，梦里琵琶马上声。
The season of many colors will resign
Because of nature
Or of human design
Trace-less, the process shows no sign
Petals on the stream, none of my concern
Determined not to bother
I’m curious however
The tunes of Pipa from horseback in dream linger

海棠春•游廊相遇
游廊相遇皆无语，悄然去，乌丝飘舞。暗自恋佳人，却只心中慕。
水流花谢谁能驻，此身老，机缘早负。恨未晚生人，或可同船渡。
Speechless I met you on the veranda
Your black hair flying, silently we did part
I am your secret admirer
The admiration is buried in heart
None can stop flowing river or a falling flower
I am old and my chance is no more
Had I been born a decade later
On your boat I might be a passenger

重彩一江东逝水，烟树濛濛，山远无穷翠。水映云天情更媚，断肠人也真心醉。
茅舍亭台依岸苇，风雨闲观，不晓人间累。潮去垂竿提一尾，孤灯酒后横床睡。

北邙一别卅秋春，洛邑牡丹曾作邻。魏紫姚黄争斗艳，九都三彩竞藏珍。
隋城佛殿明空曌，晋土豪园碧玉沦。旧友如今皆少遇，踏青陌上只斯人。
Thirty years ago I left the Mangshan Mountains
Where I used to have peonies as my neighbor
The species competed in the colorful show
The city’s tri-colored pottery was a treasure
Out of the Sui ruins rose the Empress’s hall
Lamentable was the mistress of a wealth owner
Now I seldom see my old friends from there at all
The spring outing sees me only and none other
破阵子•清明怀洛阳
解甲邙山卅载，牡丹曾与相邻。
魏紫姚黄争斗艳，四月王城扬道尘。
公园踏破门。
最爱九都三彩，大唐风物犹存。
隋址佛堂明武曌，晋史豪园坠绿魂。
可怜殉爱人。
Thirty years ago I bid farewell to arms in the Mang Mountains
Where I used to have peonies as my neighbor
The colorful flowers bloomed like gushing fountains
The roads of the king city were dust ridden
Visitors’ feet worn out the gates of the garde
Adorable was the tri-colored pottery
Preserving Tang Dynasty’s glory
Out of the Sui ruins rose the Empress’s hall
Down the Tower of Golden Grain jumped Green Pearl
To sacrifice for her lord’s downfall

青玉案•看济南于静山居图
一山突兀丹青卷，虎峰耸，清流溅。古柏巉岩星月灿，竹篱陋舍，雅堂华殿，皆去凡尘远。
听涛自有江波岸，望岭还看雨云散。山野幽居知冷暖，鹤猿相伴，四时流转，金玉何须羡。
So prominent a mountain on this painting
Like a tiger, his back arching
With clear brooks splashing
The moon and the stars are bright over age old pines and craggy cliffs
Neither a humble bamboo-fenced house
Nor an elegant and majestic building
Is worldly spheres desiring
There’s the river bank to listen to waves by
Rain clouds gone, you see the peaks high
The changing climate is best felt in the wild
With cranes and monkeys as living mate
You see the seasons around you rotate
And want neither gold nor jade

青葱新韭，野径零星有。花白玲珑迎风抖，似是热情招手。
剪叶两把留根，深夜制饺香喷。一季可包数顿，再采只待来春。

美人偶遇观音殿，徒惹禅心乱。偷将素笔写蛾眉，却恨马良不似，下墙移。
常思背后何模样，柴米油盐酱。日斜人去影幽浮，笑靥青丝媚眼，在河州。
Tune to Yumeiren： A Beauty
There‘s a beauty occasionally in temple I see
Disturbing for no reason my heart worldly
I used a pen to draw her visage secretly
But lament that I am not a magian who can
Make her come down the wall to me
Oft I wonder what she’s like behind me
In dealing with chores Monday to Sunday
At sunset she’s gone but her phantom lingers on
The dimple, the black hair and the eyes watery
On the river islet twitters a birdie

可否将君比夏天？君之风韵更翩翩。盛日如炎佳时少，风闹。花摧雾起敝金顏。
美艳常因时褪敗，容改，或缘横祸短天年。保汝青春余有道，奇妙，入诗不朽万年篇。

画角送风听，肃穆兵营。星旗缓缓降昏冥。又是一天诸事了，岸寂潮平。
远远海狮鸣，不解何情。闲来应向水边行。却恨春心人满路，徒恼贫僧。
On a solemn base in the wind goes the sound of bugle
Slowly descends the Star and the Stripes in the twilight glow
Another busy day has finally come to an end
Serene is the shore and placid are the waves on the sand
The sea lions cry in the distance, for what only God should know
It is a good time to take a walk along the beach though
But I hate the path filled with spring agitated people
This monk really resents such a show

一斛珠 •武汉思旧
大江东去，龟蛇雾锁龙王渡。几多往事随风雨。总总林林，屈指无从数。
黄鹤编钟歌楚舞，红楼首义折清羽。汉阳铸剑无新故。是是非非，递予谁人虑。
To the east rolls the Yangtze River
Foggy are the hills viewed from Dragon King Wharf
In winds and rains many events were to occur
So many of them that are
Uncountable with fingers
The Chu-style dance music is played by chimes at the Yellow Crane Tower
The uprising in Wuchang broke the wings of the Manchu ruler
The swords forged in Hanyang were indifferent to their user
As to the rights and wrongs of history
Who has the wisdom to consider
虞美人 •园中可怜桃一枝
春心不死枯桃树，寂寞秋冬度。东风化雨又来时，新叶油油再现，布斜枝。
奈何小蕊花徒放，一副穷酸相。只缘株矮不招蜂，无果年年残喘，怨无穷。
A dry peach plant whose heart is still alive
In autumn and winter manages to survive
Freshly green leaves sprout from the branches
When spring with winds and rains doth arrive
But the flowers are small and bloom in vain
The poor buds appear humble and plain
The short tree invites no bees working on them
Fruitless it hangs on year after year with complain
谒金门 •闻卢沟桥收费
无定月，犹记少年曾谒。弹雨枪林哀角咽。冀宛城头血。
自古狮桥任穿越，竟告旅关新设。盛世缘何民帑掘，大燕豪气绝。
The moon shines over the Lugou Bridge.
I remember being there when young.
The sad bugle sound in bullet rain
Is still heard from the blood smeared town.
This lion bridge opens to people all the eras.
Now they say to visit one has to pay money.
Why should Prosperity suck the fat of commoners

痴情莫，恋情莫，痴恋多成错。千里水沧浪，缨足分清浊。
高鸣松间鹤，不似柴禾雀。非是玉琼枝，岂可期凰落。
Indulge not in blind love
Infatuated not by foolish amour
Blind love leads you to err
Of the wavy waters in the river
You better know what they’re used for
Cranes signing in a lofty pine tree
Are not the sparrows that in fire twigs play
A tree not covered with jady jewelry
Invites not a phoenix on it to stay

丹青难写西施貌，众里唯伊俏。只缘画技不如人，一笑一颦狐媚，拒传神。
几回画稿临佳照，却误蛾眉笑。欲将闲话扯闲篇，再看二维小影，寂如禅。
Art can’t do justice to the beauty’s face
The finest among the others
For my painting skills are inferior to others’
Her smile, her frowning, so charming
Refuse to transfer to my painting
Many a time my sketches were made from her photo
That I mistook for the beauty smiling
I would like to chat with her about anything
Only to find the two dimensional image
In a state of Chan meditating

欣逢佳月，得见王朝蝶。艳赛群芳难超越，两翅梨花如雪。
神态旖旎端庄，素颜何用梳妆。一笑倾城国色，天姿更配霓裳。
Gladly in this nice month I saw a monarch butterfly
Her beauty surpassed all other pretty things nearby
White as snowy pear blossoms she flutter wings to fly
Stately is her beautiful face and posture
Makeup adds nil to her face of nature
Her smile can subvert the whole town
Nice dress highlights a heavenly creature
2019年赴旧金山中文演讲比赛
四月黄州变绿洲，三乡六野碧如油。鲜花争为春微笑，细草总因风点头。
百里长驱金岭赴，群童坐判冠军投。同人目睹忙诸务，苦辣甜酸欲话休。
The golden state turns greenish in April
The fields are verdant like transmission oil
Flowers compete to smile for the pleasant spring
Fine grasses nod as fine winds start blowing
The hundred more mile trip led to Gold Mountain
We sat judging kids to award champion
Colleagues busied with competition chores
I stopped short of airing sweetness and sores
孤雁儿·蔡文姬
天涯鸿雁飞何往，心碎人孤望。一轮明月照长空，荒野草波如浪。中原路远，归期不见，凄冷穹庐帐。
匈奴强娶终难忘，伤女荒原葬。悲离二子滞胡疆，终得生归乡壤。修书汉室，文存佳话，到死知何想？
Where are geese flying to in the edge of sky?
A heart-broken lady watches them alone
A bright moon is shedding light in the vast sky
The wilderness with wavy grass is strewn
The road to central China is long
No date for home return is around
Miserably cold is the Mongolian tent
Still crying over her marriage to the Xingnu
She laments a woman at a desert tomb
Sadly she parts with her two sons left behind
Before she is brought back to her home land
To write history for the Chinese lord
Her good reputation lasts in the lore
I wonder if she would at death bed repent
玉漏迟 •痴心多惹怨
痴心多惹怨，一厢情绪，徒招偷笑。梦里佳人，觉醒倍增烦恼。顾影生怜何故，若无缘，枉观花好。情自扰，无由无据，何来心闹。
本是殊寡交情，却要献殷勤，岂非胡造。礼拜弥慈，尚有开颜憨笑。不解春红谢处，谁家扫，一坪花草。心路渺，迷茫客知多少。
Infatuation produces resentment
One sided love invites sneer behind
Beauty in dreams only gives waking annoyance
Love at first sight, what is the basis?
Without destined link, you watch nice flowers for nothing
Don’t disturb yourself if yours is baseless feeling
There is no past connection between you two
Your kindness is but the act of the fool
Worshipping Maitreya you at least can hear
The fat buddha smiling from ear to ear
When spring flowers fall, who sweeps them away?
A misty heart leads so many people astray

梦醒难消夜，恨时钟，蠕行蜗慢，裸墙徒挂。陪枕诗书翻看懒，瞋目心猿意马。思绪乱，迷情谁惹？寻遍天星何处斗，看云间，月暗无华射。瞥笑靥，旧时画。

黑云天，岛城初晚，茸毛细雨绵绵。看眼下街灯寂放，四周殊少人声，雁鸣草间。多时无雨晴天，院草叶枯凌乱，平添几处萧然。
更何况、无端满心烦恼，欲言无处，似藤缠绕，整天扰我心慌意乱，如于炉灶熬煎。镜中顏，愁容使人怎看。

琼岛春荫城中海，气象大方豪迈。犹记少年时，荡桨红巾戴。壮志溢胸怀，满腹豪情在。
屈指算，积年堆载。不曾料，风貌皆改。忆旧无心，凭栏何必，世事终要循沧海。甲子倦还乡，故里如边塞。

碧凌波，花白苇，乌篷一艇随流水。蓑笠翁，坐船尾，一篓鱼儿美味。
槛外人，浮世绘，只消孤枕酣然睡。诗书乐，红颜累，忘却佳人自醉。
临江仙 •武汉长江 大江东去斜阳外，几番轮渡穿行。一桥凌贯北南横，鹤龟花木看峥嵘。 自幼临江多少次，岁时如水无情。从容而逝赴单程，人间生死岂闻听。 The river runs east in the sunset glow On ferry boats many times I’ve crossed the flow The towering bridge strides over the two banks Exuberant are the plants of Crane and Turtle I’ve come to the river frequently since a child Like water, time flows mercilessly forward On a one way trip it disappears with leisure Never caring for death and life in the world

琵琶仙•大瑟风光
高岸汪洋，叹观止，大瑟风光无限。遥看霜色天云，原乡此心远。漂泊客，登临送目，似闻见，阵行归雁。面海听涛，闲观落瀑，沙白湾浅。
待晴日，千里无云，海蓝色，晶莹透天展。吟唱一怀胸噫，唤来风云卷。须忘却，烦心琐事，尽散开，苦涩痴恋。任那他处鸳鸯，枕香肢软。
注：大瑟，Big Sur，也作大苏尔，大南，美国加州中部一号公路上依山面海的州立公园。

Idly I watch the water fall
By the white sand and shallow bay
Wait till a sunny day
All the clouds go away
The blue color of the sea
Melts into the crystal sky all the way
I will open my heart to sing
To call in winds and clouds tumbling
I will forget all the matters

And ignore those loved ones

侧犯•荷变
藕肥叶绿，艳容妩媚芙蕖茁，湖泽。月下立婷婷，笔和墨。张公画卷展，洗砚清池液，倾国。
逢雨日，听荷水边寂，翩翩俊子，莲采蓬头择。徒在侧，耐他何，余本是观客。自此莲塘，景非人陌。杨柳凄凄，赏花无色。

Robustly grow lotus plants in charm
In the lake
Slender under the moon
A scroll in water color

I listened to the lotus in quietude

空恋竹喧人，没想到，不是单身。
那日瞥得鸳鸯对，卿卿我我，
齐眉举案，妩媚销魂。
曾抱布秦门，佯贸丝，来即芳邻。
美人一笑千般媚，阴谋洞见，
不卑不亢，遥指前村。
I had a crush on the bamboo rustling person
It never occurred to me that she was not single
The other day I saw the loving pair of Mandarin ducks
Respectfully dining together, her beauty capturing my soul
I had carried a bolt of cloth to the Qin house
Pretending to exchange for the silk of my pretty neighbor
Charmingly she smiled, detecting my intention
And appropriately guided me to a village yonder
七绝 家务
柴米油盐酱醋茶，参禅不必定离家。扫清秋院风飘叶，胜过佛门一领裟。
满庭芳 •小园
夏雨频多，小园花盛，莠良争抢甘霖。五颜六色，倒也悦身心。怎奈老肢孱弱，无暇顾，草乱阴森。锄镰动，蛮荒未整，体力已难禁。
置房年七载，当初气盛，细划详斟。盖浮土，桃源别墅摹临。漆画篱墙虚月，题 红绿，宝黛佯寻。终荒了，人生大事，仍夜夜寒衾。

雨淋淋、清寒周末，时时无趣心境。苍天辽阔行无处，抬眼寂山愁岭。观自影，恰一个，涸滩落井囚蛙境。流年残剩。总噩噩浑浑，不知不觉，生不解心病。
孤零夜，难梦温香软颈，春宵沙漏流罄。空填词曲知何用？总是佳人无兴。君拭镜，白苍发、应知惭愧迷娟影！何如买酊。便红袖虚情，解愁亦可，胜远寺钟磬。

周日雨绵绵，薄衫不抵寒。虽然春近晚，怎奈此洋湾。
陋室情凄寂，公职事琐繁。流光悄逝去，老朽内如燃。
On this Sunday it rained nonstop
My thin shirt failed to give me warmth
Though spring is near its end almost
We are by the Monterey bay
Sad loneliness filled my poor house
Myriads of things occur at work
Time flows away without a trace
I feel scorching burns in my guts

老朽败园囚，春至狂芳费剪修。忙里窃闲收拾点，悠悠，无限光阴不觉流。
劳累苦无休，恰似随波不系舟。释剪入门窥美貌，明眸，更惹忧肠百结愁。
An old man, a prisoner of his garden
Works hard to trim the wild spring vegetation
He does it little by little ‘cause he is busy
And much time steal away without notification
He feels bitter about endless labor
Like a nonstop boat on the river
Putting cutter aside he saw a pretty face in the room
Her bright eyes make him from pain suffer

一夜清风摇玉树，云淡天青，飞过丝丝缕。何处擎天神立柱，托高星汉迢迢路。
夏至无由寻柳絮，碧草鲜花，欢喜时时雨。满院残春听鸟语，双双偏向邻家去。
In the nightly breeze fine trees sway
Across the blue sky silky clouds play
Where’s the magic pillar supporting the sky
That raises high the starry Milky Way
Summer comes and nowhere to see catkins
Green grass and fresh flowers love shower rains
The departing spring in my yard listens to the birds
That in pairs however fly to the neighboring lanes

日暮沉沉，校园人去车流寂。霎时无迹，野鹿佳妻觅。
春夏之交，天气多更易。何朝夕，全凭天德，变化无规律。
It’s dark sunset after
Human and vehicle traffic gone from campus
Instantly cleared
Chasing a mate, a wild deer
At the crossroad of spring and summer
Changeable is the weather
What mornings and evenings we have
Depends on heaven’s temper
No regularity whatsoever

阑夜眠中碎梦稠，临窗残见月，挂如钩。纤云犹在树梢浮，方才之枕景，秒分流。
持笔飞书怪境头，淘思兼苦虑，秘言求。缠麻往事解还忧，倩谁评毕竟，算无筹。

夜半觉来残梦稠，临窗一望月如钩。纤云犹在枝梢挂。枕景已随分秒流。
奋笔疾书奇境录，竭思苦虑秘言求。悠悠往事纠缠久，因果谁能说破头。
waking up midnight, I’ve dream memories dense
a look finds the crescent moon by the window
thin clouds still hang on the branches of tree tops
in seconds vanish the scenes of the pillow
struggling to write down quick the mysterious dreams
to seek their hidden message I wrack my brains
entangled are the past happenings in life
what’s the cause‘ nd what’s not who to me explains?

快绿怡红他家院，画饼充饥楼馆。湾风早骤，雨飞窗溅。懒更衣，贪孤枕，望飞燕。残梦虽萦绕，清还乱。一室凋零景，破书卷。
院里诸花，渐次随春断。老去容颜，谁能免。任她佳丽，亦应该，红颜叹。

剪枝褥草事躬亲，室少芳荃院满春。若得帮工香艳手，罗衾绣枕两相邻。呵呵

日晚挂帘冷，春去近无踪。夏来时有凄雨，难耐海洋风。陋室空堂寂寞，败院荒芜满地，花叶落重重。持帚何堪扫，颦黛悼残红。
翻旧照，皆凌乱，岁青葱。忍观昔日模样，何处觅韶容。犹忆庐峰攀越，还上骊山凭吊，年少易情衷。历尽沧桑后，难再有心雄。

如坐针毡对驰钟，凄风苦雨泣飞红。孤衾梦醒窗边月，夜半春阑枕底风。
心中偶，却难逢，自悲命运不君同。今生识得佳人面，笑影长留回忆中。

登上骊山尽风尘，寒月正初春。偷辞营地，绿皮西去，秦地荒晨。
华清遐想凝脂液，烽火定昏君。梨花飘雨，渔阳鼙鼓，千古冤魂。
On top of Lisha Mountain I saw dust everywhere
It was a cold early spring
Stealing out of the base
I rode the green train west
And unloaded myself in the wilderness morning
Of ancient Qin country
I fancied how the water of Huaqing Pool
Washed the fine skin of Lady Yang
How the beacon fire on the mountain
Nailed a frivolous ruler to the column of shame
From pear blossoms showing like rain
To the battle drums of the rebellion
How they wronged an innocent woman

终有人生缘尽，莫赖凭天言信。林木一经寒，叶枝干。
岂望佳人长倚，多变人生如水。片刻美韶华，黯云遮。
Human liaison is destined to sever
Trust not a promise in the name of heaven
Once trees are by the cold bitten
The branches will wither
Rely not on the company of the loved one
Life changes like flowing water
The momental fine and glorious hour
Will turn into a cloud-clad sun
