This really is a Masterpiece of a film. NO COMPUTER GRAPHICS(NOT INVENTED YET), THOUSANDS OF EXTRAS, EVERY SET WAS BUILT. GREAT SCORE. THE STARS WERE THE BEST. IT WAS NOMINATED FOR 13 OSCARS AND WON 4 OSCARS FOR PRODUCTION/SET DESIGN, COSTUME, SPECIAL VISUAL EFFECTS AND CINEMATOGRAPHY. TAYLOR NEVER LOOKED MORE BEAUTIFUL. BURTON EVEN SURPASSED HIS PERFORMANCE IN HIS OSCAR-NOMINATED ROLE IN "THE ROBE". EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS FILM IS OLD HOLLYWOOD. ONE OF THE LAST TRULY GREAT EPIC MOTION PICTURES.

I love the classics, especially this movie, Cleopatra, also Ben Hur, Greatest Story Ever Told, and the Ten Commandments, all epic movies, all of which were all closely produced together in a time when movies were more than just entertainment, a thing of quality. All in a time when original sets were of art and done with hard work instead of computer-generated graphics. All these movies in my opinion, had great actors/actresses who were serious about the roles they held, and gave the best performances they could do, even at time when many dealt with hardships. Elizabeth Taylor was said to have had a bad back when doing this and even though she was in great pain and from wearing a golden dress heavy with ornamentation, doing her best to hide it and gave it her all to complete the movie. She was a great person with a great commitment to doing her best by acting in whatever role she pursued. I feel this was one of her greatest roles she did. Always admired her for it. She was a beautiful woman. RIP Liz….from one of your fans….you are still remembered….God keep you…God bless everyone…..
