One day in Sep last year, I witnessed a strange thing in Qingdao airport.
I was waiting from my flight from TAO (qingdao) to PEK, it is a MU flight from Fukoka to PEK via TAO. The fight landed at 1600, and we are supposed to board the plane around 1630 after some passengers walked out of the plane, but we waited till 1730 and still no boarding happened.
The passengers started to get neverous and asking questions. Finally, the security guys at the boarding gate told us the reason:
Two students bought airtickets to PEK, however, they alighted at TAO by themselves, so before boarding the new passengers, MU staff found two pax missing, and they have to find out what happened, otherwise others can be board.
Then it happened that a girl, who sits together with the missing students (suppose they are together), admitted that her friends have left airport. She confessed that her friends bought tickets to PEK for it is cheaper than TAO, while their real destination is TAO. So they decided to get away secretly from TAO, and they have asked this girl to pick the luggage for them in PEK airport, for the luggage is checked to PEK.
The new passenger are quite upset with this selfish behavior. It seems these two students violated the contract with MU and maybe immigration law in China. Due to their "smart idea" to save money, about 100 passengers from TAO wasted three hours each, which means more than 400 hours or even more are wasted for nothing.
To make it worse, for the two guys left the aircraft without taking out the lugggage, MU has to offload their luggage and it is a major operation to identify their luggage. And, for security reason, TAO airport police also send a bomb squad with dogs to go into the cargo cabin to check and to roll-out any bomb threat. It was such a hassel for everyone.
Those young students who did this seem to have no disciplane in violating the code of conduct. It is a sad thing that they figure out they could save a couple of hunder CNY and pays no attention to obeying the law and social hehaviour.
