由于我的Case不是很强，但我有较好的推荐信。所以我找了一个律师。我把12封推荐信草稿七月底交给他。前几天他们告诉我现在是不是想在10月1前递交。但他们只给我改了4分推荐信（开始还寄了2封没改得给我），说现在没时间了，而每封信就改了不到5个单词。我想这样的话我的绿卡肯定批不下来，所以不准备急着申请。不过律师那边还在帮我准备140 和485的表格。不知道会不会在要求我寄钱之前把petition letter 也email给我。由于我发现这个律师不怎么样。所以准备不用他们了。不过既然我已经付了1500的第一部费用。我想看他们能帮我做些什么就算了。但不想付下一步的钱。不知道这样可以吗？感激不尽！！！
合同如下：
The legal fee to represent you in this matter is $4,500. The only other fees you will need to pay will be the required CIS/INS filing fees and FedEx costs (expected to be less then $100 for the case). Payment will be due as follows:
Payment #1 Due to begin representation. The initial legal fee is deemed earned and nonrefundable upon our acceptance of your case and issuance of our Visa Guide that gets you started. $1,500
Payment #2 Due upon filing of the Form I-140 Petition with the CIS/INS. This legal fee is deemed earned and nonrefundable upon our filing your petition with the CIS/INS. $1,000
Payment #3 Due ONLY upon approval of the Form I-140 Petition by the CIS/INS. If your NIW petition is denied, then no further legal fees are required beyond what has already been paid. $1,000
Payment #4 Due upon filing the Form I-485 Adjustment of Status applications. This legal fee is deemed earned and nonrefundable upon our filing your petition with the CIS/INS and included not only the I-485 but also the related temporary work and travel permits for you and your family members. $1,000
TOTAL $4,500
Our fee[s] are based on our belief that your application will be processed in the normal course by the governmental agencies involved. Our initial evaluation offered you our comprehensive assessment of qualifications. While we feel that you are candidate for these programs, please know that no attorney can guarantee the success of your case.

Please know that our law firm will provide our best efforts to win approval of the I-140 Petition(s). As stated in our evaluation, we will prepare and file a very comprehensive petition package that documents your relevant professional accomplishments and includes a 20 to 30 page, highly persuasive Legal Memo supporting our claim for your approval in the immigrant visa program(s). However, the final decision in your case can only come from the CIS/INS.
Should the CIS/INS review the petition(s) and issue a Request for Evidence (“RFE”) seeking clarification on how or why you qualify, we will agree to assist in this additional legal work. However, you should be aware that responding to an RFE generally entails our preparation of 3 to 7 additional (new) expert support letters, as well as a new, comprehensive Legal Memo from our office addressing the specific CIS/INS issues. Therefore, should we be required to respond to an RFE relating to NIW I-140 Petition, you will be required to pay an additional $500 (five hundred dollars) legal fee due at the time we file the response to the RFE. Please know that there are NO additional legal fee charges if we are required to respond to an RFE relating to the I-485, I-765, I-131 or other applications/petitions.
Our legal fee includes all required processing for all qualifying family members to also obtain the Green Card with you. We also will process all temporary work and travel permit for you and your family – including any extensions. Again, however, you will be responsible for all CIS/INS filing fees related to their petitions.
As you may be aware, lawyers owe certain ethical duties to their clients. Under the rules, the existence of any ethical conflicts with a client, or potential for ethical conflicts, could prevent us from working with you. While these conflicts are rare, we are required to inform you of the potential. As far as we have been able to determine, there exists no such issues at this time. We do not foresee this happening, but we are required to provide you with this notice.
If the foregoing correctly sets forth the agreement between us, please sign the enclosed copy of this letter where indicated and return it to me as soon as possible with the first payment. Your personal check or money order may be made payable to “Visa Law Group.”
Upon receipt of your materials, we will then immediately send out our “Visa Guide.” This Guide will walk you through the required processing steps, provide many sample documents – including approximately ten support letters – as well as a comprehensive check list of materials needed to be gathered.
