I have a question regarding to this:

答：如果你早就递交了I-140申请并获得了批准，由于目前的倒退排期限制你不能递交I-485申请，你可以请你所在的公司帮忙，为你申请延长H-1B签证时间，每次时间最长为三年。如果你的配偶持H-1B 签证，他／她的身份也可以相应延长。
What I heard is the spouse should have her/his own I140 approved in order to get 3 yrs H1B extension. Your I140 is only good for yourself. That is different with your information. So which one is correct?
