Hi, Dan 712 and other friends here, I have a question with I-94 number:
I just received I-797A approval notice for my H-1B extenstion petition and found that the I-94# on thea attached I-94 form from this I-797A is different from the previous I-94 # I have been using. My previous experience with immigration officer at the airport is that they always asked me to use the same number on my very first I-94 card when I fill out the new I-94 form upon my reentry into US. I guess the reason of this new I-94 number is that the attorney submitted a copy of my very last I-94 in the package for H-1B extension petition. And on this form the new I-94 number I just received was originally printed on the form. I did handwrote on this form a different number which I have been always using below this printed number. Maybe the BCIS officer just took that originally printed number as my new I-94 number.
I hope I explained this clearly.
My question is: A. will this be a problem? B. If it's a problem, how to contact BCIS and correct it? C. Should I use this new I-94 number for any future documents? Many thanks and good luck to everybody here.
