Hi, All,

I am currently a post-doc in a east-coast univeristy, just started in October.
My OPT will expire in August 31 2006. I am planning to apply H1-B through my
university, and apply the green card through outside lawyers. I have not
started all the process yet.

Now I got an offer from a company in CA, the starting time is a little bit
flexible. I could start either right now or 2 or 3 months later.

Since I am always interested in a industry position, the reason to take the
post-doc position is due to the delayed offer. So certainly i would like to
start the industry position ASAP. But I have a question about the green card
application. Some of my friends suggest that it is better to apply EB2-NIW
right now before taking the industry position, since I have to wait several
months or one year for the application through the company. Filing the
application as a post-doc may have some advantages compared with filing
through the company.

My qeustions are:

Should I file the application before I go to the company? Or it does not
matter?
Can I stil file EB2-NIW if I take the engineer postion in the company?

Any advices and suggestions would be highly appreciated.
