In my first patch posted today, I suggest that one do NIW by her/him self. I did all my I140(NIW) and I485 by myself. As I mentioned in my patch, my case was approved in June 2005. When preparing the supporting documentation, I 100% relied on a handbook, which I believe the best and very official (I want to address that this is only my personal opinion!!!!!!). Of course, I used Edition of 2003 (I submitted my original petition in end of 2004 and was approved in middle of 2005). Now I believe Edition of 2005, even 2006 are available. This handbook is not quite expensive compared to a lawyer’s fee. You would not spend more than $200 to buy this handbook, yet, it helps you to save more $4000 lawyer fee!!!!!!! What I love this handbook most is that it contains very detailed, accurate, updated, and official information for essentially any type of petition, of course, including I140. If you have ever did your income tax return forms in this country, I will understand what I mean. The handbook details line information (how to fill out each box or line of any immigration form, how to prepare recommendation letters, the samples of recommendation letters, where to file your petition, ……).
Again, the above comments are my personal opinion. I want to tell readers that I am not trying to ruin any immigration law office or any lawyer’s business. I am trying to deliver a clear message-I140 (NIW) is dependent on good recommendation letters not on lawyer.
The handbook’s name is (By Austin T. Fragomen, Jr., Alfred J. Del Rey, Jr., and Steven C. Bell)
