Help: Just laid off. How to keep H-1B status? Benson2006-01-13 01:10:38

I was just laid off because of company downsizing. The company sponsored my I-140 application (OR) and the I-140 was just approved before Christmas and I-485 is pending. The company president is willing to help to keep my status. But what is the best way to keep my H-1B before I find another job? Or should I use my EAD card to look for another job right now? Any suggestion and help is greatly appreciated.
