Please help for (Green Card) laywer PLEASEHELPME20062006-01-27 15:50:48

I am currently a Postdoc in University of Massachusetts, and I am planing to apply GC as an outstanding researcher (EB1), however, I was told that I must hire a laywer from the list the universitied pointed. Is this legal?

I contacted a laywer, and asked for the fee. she is asking $3000 for the first step, 1500 for the second step. However, she is also asking $1000 and $750 for my wife and my son's I485. Is this regular or she is cheating me?
