my status is as follows:
my first H1B expired in Feb 10, 2006
the receipt of h1b extension was dated March 10, 2006, one month after the expiration due to RFE as per the attorney of previous company
April 10, my previous company let me go without doing anything but telling me to not worry about my status, it is automatically transfered to b2 status for 30 days
same day my current company started processing my case for h1b transfer, after all the doucment submitted to the company attorney, he found out the gap and told me the transfer can not be filed, and suggest me to talk with previous company to change the filing status from normal to premium process
now the previous company asked me to pay 1000 dollars for the switching. they are on stock company, but behave like a small immigration company. the attorney ignored all the evidence I provided that this was truely due to the improper process of my case in the company and asked that I have to pay for 1000 dollars for him to switch the process like I am a banker.
I truely think this should be paid by the company but I don't know what to do next. If any one of you think that you could help me, please leave your email contacts.
Many many thanks.
