Will I-94 number change every time when entering USA? Mover2006-06-10 21:11:30

Hi, all. Thanks for all the kind people in this forum helped on my AP application. I just came back with AP. I submited the old I-94 white card before departure. When I came back, I filled a new I-94 card (different bumber from the old one for sure) which was distributed by air crew. the costom officer didn't take the I-94 part of my H-1 approval form.
So, I have two different I-94 numbers: new I-94 card number and old I-94 on H-1.Now my question is, what I-94 number should I use in the future? Thank you for your help! Enjoy your weekend!
