An F-1 student would like to change status to H4 during I-485 pending as a co-petitioner. He has maintained his F-1 status after I-485 was filed. Did anyone here succeed in this type of change of status? Does he need to go outside of US to obtain a valid H4 status (not visa)? Will this change of status jeopardise his future I-485 processing because I-485 was filed during the F-1 ?
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
