I am a postdoc in a university. I applied for green card (NIW) last september. I have EAD but never use it. I am still using my H-1b from university.
I want to apply for 2007 residency. But I don't know whether I should wait until I get the green card. My understanding of NIW is since it is not employment-based, I am free to change my career.
Is there someone is the same boat with me?
Also the receipt date of my I-485 was Sep 26, 2005 in Texas center. What is the chance that I can get my green card before next summer?
