I got a letter from NSC in which said “The NSC has requested your file from the District Office in New York. Your I-485 application cannot be adjudicated without the A file.”
What’s means “the A file”?
My wife apply a EAD in June 18 but it was denied with the reason of her refusal I485. It is a wrong reason because her I 485 is still pending. So she sent a letter to NSC to explain in July 26. Meanwhile, she called USCIS and the operator suggested to file a new application because the customer service center received thousands of letter everyday and they can not handled these letters soon. Thus she sent a new application in August 14 and it was approved in August 29. Everything looks OK, But….
She got a letter from NSC in Sept. 5 in which said her I 485 application documents was not located. She is requested to file a duplicate of I 485 application and she did it. She mailed it today. But…
Today she got another letter from NSC in which said “The NSC has requested your file from the District Office in New York. Your I-485 application cannot be adjudicated without the A file.”
“You will need to inquire at the New York District Officer. You may schedule a walk-in appointment at your local officers using INFOPASS, a service also available on our website.”
I am confused that why NSC has requested her file from the DONY.
BTW, I never lived in New York, I have lived in Ohio since I came to USA.
What should I do now?
