AP usage problem, confused!!!XBT, RAY, and experts yiuyiu2007-02-08 20:53:50

I just came back form the Office International Education and in there a coodinatior told me I can not use AP to re-enter to USA after i go to China. The reason is that I have not a H1b Visa on my passport, I only change my Visa from J1 to H1b in USA. That means AP only suitable for H1b which you got it from embassy but not for H1b which you got it in USA. Is it true?

Please give explanation if you have some experience.
