Received email notice from my lawyer that my NIW petition has been approved. Basic information for reference:
TSC
RD: Sep 29
PD: Sep 27
AD: Oct 12
NO RFE, approved in less than two weeks.
Currently Ph.D student in Mech. Eng. in top 5 engineering School
M.S. in Chemistry from a US University.
Research field: Nanotechnology
Publications&citations: 1) Ph.D one 1st author just published in this August (just before I sent my materials to my lawyer);
one 2nd author, not my research focus, 10 citations upon filing
one non 1st author paper from collaboration with another univ., just accepted upon filing;
My another major 1st author paper is just in review, it has been rejected by top journals for several times, because of, maybe, academic politics.
2)M.S. two 1st author papers, independent citations 7.
1)B.S in China, two 2nd author papers, one 3nd author paper, my advisor is the first author in these three papers. These three papers have about 85 independent citations, including some big reviews, prestigious journals and groups in nanotech.
6 ref letters: one from industry US; one from old famous chemistry professor in my school; one from Postdoc, having collaboration in research, some connection with national lab; one from my M.S. advisor, chemistry professor and current chair; one from EE professor UK, he cited one of my first author paper in his Review; one from Physics professor, Belgium, we met each other in a MRS meeting.
My lawyer is very responsible. I never called him during the preparation. Email reply was fast, usually within one day. I know very likely just his assistant did these things, even the petition letter. But I don't care. I appreciate their high quality services. The petition letter they made is very provokable and hit-the-point.
I learned a lot from this Forum, Lovewind, Radiology, fsa2000, WorthIt, xiaobaitu, mytwocents, etc. They provided many insightful posts. Especially to Lovewind for his very helpful suggestions along the way of my petition.
Thank you all and best of luck to all the people here! I love to share my experience and insights learned from this process.
