I applied GC for both me and my spouse. Luckily, mine I-485 got approved in 07/2006. But on the same time, unfortunately, my other half's 485 is still pending now due to name check. I have worked in current position since 04/2006, planning to leave this position in one year which will be 04/2007, I think there should be no problem for me to change job now since the 485 was filed in 01/06. But the thing is I want to take my kid back to china and visit grandparents in the summer school break, so I will be unemployed for 2 month between jobs(Or never have a vacation long enough to visit China). My question is will this gap between employment cause any trouble for my hubby's greencard application process? What if USCIS ask to interview or REF during that period that I am gone? He is on H1B currently. The lawyer handling my case is hired by the company and won't speak the truth, they hope I stay with the current employer as long as possible. He even adviced me not change jobs before my hu*****and's green card is approved.
Any opinions? There are very little info about if one of the family get approved first and dependent applicant is still pending. Can I change job? Can I be temporary umemployed?
