My son is with his mom (my ex) in China now, 14 years. He wants to stay with me in US. I have GC now. A few years ago, when I filed for Green Card, I did not apply for him because of some reasons. If he comes now as visitor(B2 visa), do we need to change status later or apply GC(wait for 5 years) in order to stay here permanently? I read about following to join benefits, is that for my case? Is there any other ways we can do with this situation? I want him to come here asap and go back to China in summer. Thanks for any response.
