我去年从一个agent招了一个contractor。简历非常的漂亮,电话面试也非常满意。
technical & personality. I really enjoyed the interview. 他可以很快地理解我
的意思,回答问题right on the point,而且那个人technical方面明显比我强,但是
他绝不会让我觉得尴尬。可以说是我面试了20-30个Sr. Software Engineer里面最好的
一个。所以尽管hourly rate is $78, 我觉得挺值的。
contractor来上班以后,两小时之内我就觉得不对。来的这个人一个很简单的business
logic我要说很多遍他明显没明白,尽管他一直点头说“yeah yeah yeah"。后来写起
CODE来也不行,有些很基本的东西还不会,再穿插不断地问我已经跟他说了很多遍的
business logic。弄得我很头大. 但是因为人是我interview的,我只是个小小的team
lead,马上把他轰走有点扇我自己嘴巴的意思。更何况这个AGENT是我的头儿推荐的。
于是我硬着头皮留下了他。
我跟他没有熟到问他到底拿到手多少钱一个小时。但是他没有租车,住在朋友家里。我
感觉AGENT也就是给他五万左右一年。就是说2/3被AGENT剥削走了。他有个一岁的小女
儿,和太太在印度,正准备签H4过来。
最终我还是让他走人了。原因是他在一个会上当着全组的面说他刚刚攻克了一个一直没
有解决的问题。而事实上那个solution是我想出来的,还没有完全完成。而且会后我压
着火问他是不是弄好了,给我看看。他支支努努的--原来根本没做出来。
尽管如此,我的头让他走的那天我借口没去上班。想到他的小女儿,我还是觉得很难过
。我有个差不多大的女儿。
那个AGENT马上又送来了新的简历--一样的漂亮。后来才知道这些印度人贩子公司都是
这样的,简历撒谎,甚至有人专门电话面试。对干活的contractor其实也剥削得很厉害。
anyway, 我不是受雇于MS, HP, Oracle这样的大公司,但也吃了ICC的亏。公司亏了两
万多块钱在这个contractor身上。如果有需要,我可以提供细节和我的联系方法。
The fact is really true. I went to a Indian ICC before, and watch how they
answer the telephone interview. The best people in technology will answer
the interview represent the candidate. Because all indians accents are the
same, they don't need to worry about it(I mean the fact that the employor
will doubt if the man is really the one who have the interview. )
Because I have good technical background the boss asked me to stay in the
company and train other young indian student. They ordinary have one - two
weeks training before they polish your resume and send it to potential
employors. I look down on their dishonest strategy and declined his offer.
After that, I change my attitude to them. I think this nation are all
dishonest people and are not worth making friends. I try all my ability to
squash their living space because I know they are afraid of us and there is
dark pressure in their minds.
