I obtained numerous helpful information from this website and have been encouraged by messages so I want to share my long journey here too.
I-140 (NIW) filed Nov. 2004 and approved March 2005.
I-485 (with my wife's) filed March 2005 just after the approval of I-140 due to miss the date before the approval of I-140.
1st FP June 2005
Emergent AP applied Sept. 2005
Change from H1 to EAD from March 2006 due to change of job in government.
1st contact with 1st Congressman in July 2006
2nd contact with 1st congressman in Oct. 2006
3rd contact with 1st Congressman in Dec. 2006
Letter to First Lady in Dec. 2006 and got response from FBI in Feb 2007 saying that the Name Chech was finalized.
1st contact with 1st Senator (1st Congressman) in Feb 2007
2nd contact with 1st Senator in March 2007
3nd contact with 1st Senator in May 2007. this time the person in the Senator's office really did some work for me because she tried to complete some information from me and also the Officer in TSC told me this. She told me there is no evidence of my I-140 approval in TSC.

March 7, 2007, I-485 was transferred from VSC to TSC, about two weeks after the completion of Name Check.
May 18 2007, received a call from officer in TSC for basic information and I was told my wife's and mine own case was going to be approved and should receive card in one week.
What I learn from this is that we should remember "find hope from despair", do whatever we can do, be faithful, never give up. I have several friends who filed the I-140 and I-485 almsot at the same time as me, they got GC about two years ago.
