Is it normal for USCIS to interview a dependent ? pppsg2007-05-25 02:44:28

My wife ted I485 form based on my I-140 approval (Eb1-b) in August,2006. Yesterday, she called USCIS and was told that her case will be transfered to local office for interview. Does someone have any idea about this? Is that normal?
