I plan to land Canada by Car through Detroit this weekend before sending I485 My attorney told me "you must request the US boarder inspector (CBP) stamp your passport so we will have the proof that you are inspected/admitted".
I asked two friends who landed before, one at Detroit, one at Seattle. Both by car, but boarder inspectors did not stamp their passports when they came back. My questions are:
1) Does anyone got stamped when landing by car?
2) Does anyone know to insist board inspector to stamp if he does want to?
3) what's the influence on I485 if not stamped?
4) if not stamped, which date to use when filling form I485?
Urgent need your input, any answer to any questions are highly welcome!
