Many July filers strongly support lawsuit, even they know they have slim chance. The reason they say is to "fight for their right". Is it true?

First of all, USCIS never said that it would not accept July filers’ I-485 anymore. USCIS just said “wait”. In fact, their I-485 will be accepted sooner or later once visa number is available. So “fight for right” does not sound too solid. Your “right” to sub mit the I-485 is never stripped, but delayed.

Couldn’t it be delayed? In the past years, backlog happened many times. The last time it retrograded five years, and took 8 months to back to available. We never heard any one “crying for right”. I saw a guy in this forum that his PD was just 3 days away from cut-off day last time. But he waited 8 months to get his PD available. I didn’t hear anyone cried for his right to file I-485.

I agree with someone in some degree that, in fact, application of GC is not our RIGHT, but our PRIVILEGE, because living and working in US does not entitle the right to become a US GC holder anyhow. Of course we have privilege to get GC.

If it is not for right, what for? Money and chance. Substantial loss of money and hiking fee after July 30 are the main concern. I don’t say it is wrong, but just don’t confuse with “fighting for right”. I would like to see some monetary compensation to these guys. I will applause if USCIS will not increase the application after July 30.

Other than money, they fight for chance, an unbelievable, never happened, but slipping away chance. When I saw “U” in June, I was doubt it could be too good to be true. But do you also think this is not a never come back again chance? Maybe you don’t, maybe you just want to catch, no matter what consequece will be, just file. If this could be true, it would be the best. It may not be wrong to fight for chance, just don’t say “fighting for right”.

In fact, our Chinese rights in this country is not something to be compliment too much. We have a lot to fight. Till now, there is still glass ceiling in our working places. Many right groups fight for our right. Are we really interested in participating? Is there something we need to think about?

As I always said that our right is established on the unity, not splitting. We need focus on real issues, bigger issue that bother us many years. Of course GC is a big issue, but not whole issue. I hope everyone will get it sooner or later. Don’t be frustrating. Join our groups, participating whenever you can, giving whatever you can, practice your right, you will gain later. It is not just for you, it is for whole Chinese, this generation and next, and next.

Sorry, maybe I talk to far.
