I plan to go back china in the near future. My current status is H1B and NIW I-140 pending. How risky is it to go back China at the mean time?

Do I really need to write a work plan for VISA application.
Also, any tips on how to get the visa smoothly and successfully in Beijing Embassy is greatly appreciated!
