Hi everyone,

I have an urgent question! I applied for I-485 as a derivative of my hu*****and, whose I-485 is also currently pending. However, my hu*****and and I live in two different states. We just went to an interview for my application in order to prove our marriage is not bona fide. During the interview, the officer said my case is approvable as soon as my name check is clear. But then she realized my hu*****and's I-485 is not approved yet. So she started searching for it in her computer system. It turns out his case was sent to another local office which is completely unrelated to us and she doesn't know why.

Can anyone advise in this case which local office has the jurisdiction to approve our cases?

Should we request both of our files be transferred to the local office near his residency (This is what the office said but she didn't seem sure)?

How long will that take and can the principal applicant still move during this process?

Many thanks for your inputs!
