I applied my EAD and Green Card last August (marriage based,my hu*****and is US citizen). 485 pending for NC. This year, I sent the application to renew my EAD on July 23 07. I believe that they received my documents on Jul 27, 07 (certified mail). However, I didn't get a receipt. Instead, I got a appointment notice to take FP. So I did that on Sep 27 07 (the receipt number is also on that appointment notice). After that, I checked my case status on line. It says"Current Status: Notice returned as undeliverable.
On September 21, 2007, the post office returned our last written notice on this case as undeliverable. This can have serious effects on the processing of this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent". I didn't move and didn't change address. the USCIS probably typed something wrong. So I called and get a letter saying that you case is currently under review and you should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days. After a month, nothing happened and they didn't update the status. So I called again on Nov 8, 07 and today I got a mail saying like this: "Based on your request we reserached the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please call custoerm service". This letter is really upset me. I have to wait 9 to 10 month to get my EAD renewed? Why they need to perform additional review? Nothing change from last year to this year? It's just a renew. Is it possible for those guys mad of me becasue I keep asking them and want to punish me? My EAD expires today. That's the reason I was so anxious. Do I need to hire an attorney to deal with USCIS? If I have to wait another 6 months, I will lose my job.
