Congressman Clarke has agreed to pick up the language of “Supervisory Review” drafted by our lobbyists to her Name Check bill, which could be benchmark of The House to the Senate counterpart “Levin’s Amendment”. We need your help to make the campaign stronger.

Congressmen are back to their districts this week (11/26~11/30). If you are in one of the key districts (listed below), please make an appointment with YOUR Congressman ASAP. Please contact our lobbyist Paul at pauldonnelly@mindspring.com in case you need help on appointment.

It would be the BEST if you can bring one more CITIZENS with you to the meeting. Asking them to make phone calls on behalf of you is also desirable.

Before the meeting, ask for the immigration staff and REMEMBER THEIR NAME. Then email Paul after the meeting. Please ccopy your communications to LIA account: stories@securecheckalliance.org.

Please deliver the following messages during the meeting:
Tell/ask them:
your own suffering story in detail.
this is a national security issue---the faster, the safer.
to support including Yvette Clarke's bill for "supervisory review" in the omnibus appropriations bill.
to communicate this to David Obey (chair of the appropriations committee) and David Price(the chair of the homeland security subcommittee)
Legal Immigrant Association and American Families United are actively lobbying on the issue.
our lobbyists will follow up with the legislative staff in DC.

Other general communication guidance:
Try to avoid to specific terms like 485, I40, PD, etc. Use PLAIN language.
When being asked about H1B, tell them green card and H1B are different animals. H1B is not your concern (students who do care H1B, please contact Paul for specific instructions).
When asked about illegal issues, tell them to fix LEGAL problems FIRST.
