we were asked to do FP on 11/21 and unfortunately we were not able to make it as we were going for vacation (air tickets and hotel had been booked a while ago). We decided to go to the Application Support Center 1 day prior to the designed date as I saw many folks here have successfully completed FP by just walking in. When we were there, we were told that we were not able to do FP that day as they had a very tight schedule. As the same time we were instructed to come back the next Wed or Sat when were back from vacation. They said that would be our makeup date.
We were not sure if this was feasible (no written notice) so we talked with our lawyer. Our lawyer told us to go ahead with what we were instructed and meanwhile he would reschedule the appointment for us by delivery of UPS (this happened one day prior to the designated date) just in case. Once we are done with FP after we are back, he will follow up with USCIS for updates.
Now we are back and we are going to the Center this Wed for FP, but we are still worried. Questions are:
1) Will this be OK that we reschedule the appointment just one day before the designated date?
2) If they didn't see the reschedule request on 11/21 (our disignated date for FP), will they automatically assume that we give up our 485 applications as we didn't show up?
3) If the makeup date is good as we were told, can we do FP while we already reschuled our appointment (even though it was reschuled one day prior)?
