My employer submitted PERM application on my behalf 1 month ago. Got the phone call from DOL to verify the case, but up till now, have not got approval notice. I am an assistant professor of liberal arts in a state university. Normally how long does it take to get PERM approval? My lawyer said 3-4 months, but my friend, who is also an assistant professor in the same university, got his PERM approved in about 3 weeks at the beginning of this year. How come mine takes longer? PERM is processed at DOL, right? So the NC Memo will not influence PERM process. Any information on where to check PERM application status? Many Thanks.
