I have an urgent issue with regard to my Optional Pratical Training to ask for help and advice.
I found a job in Boston and have already confirmed a starting date of April 28th with the company. When I went to our graduate school to apply for OPT early Feburary, they found they mistakenly reported to the SEVIS that I "graduated in 2005" thus my OPT application could not start.
Soon after that they requested a correction from SEVIS but to date this problem has STILL not been corrected and I can not apply for OPT. Although our school agreed to get me a CPT but this still needs the error to be corrected.
Although our graduate school has claimed that they were "urging to SEVIS to make the correction as soon as possible", no one would like to come out to even promise a timeframe.
I am incredibly anxious right now. Has anyone encountered similar problem in the past?
PLEASE HELP ME. I have my American dream and really want to solve this problem as soon as possible!
