Dear Senator/Congressman
Please accept a lot of heart felt thanks for initiating and/or supporting the numerous changes for the welfare of the employment based green card applicants and thus the US economy, during the past year.
I request you to kindly support the bipartisan bill (Bill H.R. 5882), to "recapture" EB visa numbers introduced by Congresswoman Lofgren and Rep. Sensenbrenner. This is estimated to restore approximately 218,000 unused visa numbers for employment based (EB) green card (GC) applicants. Thus a lot of the backlogs may get cleared soon bringing hope and cheer to hundreds of thousands of the folks from the highly skilled immigrant categories.
A lot of these well educated and highly skilled immigrants want to avoid the hassles associated with dealing with complex USCIS procedures of their present status requirements and delay their entrepreneurial plans till at least a year after the GC. I firmly believe that the new GC approvals would speed up this process and help inject a lot of fresh capital and new ideas, thus helping the US economy. Above all it would help clear some level of the ‘seemingly well established’ uncertainty associated with dealing with the USCIS & State departments.
Personally, this would help speed up my own Green Card– which seems to be caught up in a very unfair (per country annual GC cap) and unpredictable process.
I have firm faith in your leadership and a strong feeling that you would certainly support this noble cause.
