A friend of mine, Canada citizen, may marry a US citizen and live in US. She has a nine-year old child (also a Canada citizen). The mother really wants to have the child stay with her and go to school in US. Can the child stay with mother in US legally, for a long period?
The child's birth-father is not an option, not reliable at all.
