My sister is a US citizen and trying to apply green card for my mom. She submitted I-130 before the my mom's visa was expired. However, my mom's visa expired before she submitted I-485 which is the next step. I am wondering if my mom is still eligible to file I-485 since there is a statement on the form saying "you are not eligible for adjustment of status if your authorized stay expired before you file this application".
Any help will be greatly appreciated !
