Notice of Receipt gorx2004-10-12 03:19:11

I sent out my application on Sep 2 (TX), and the checks were cashed on Sep 16. But I still did not receive anything from uscis. Is this normal? How long does it take to get the "Notice of Receipt"? Any phone numbers I can call to check? Thanks.
