green cards? I offer to file I-130 for my brother so his daughter who's 4 years old now can have an option to come to the US with a green card ready when she grows up. But he and his wife seem not interested in coming to the US. They said that if my niece wants to come, it will be on her own merit, not through me. A friend offered to sponsor her siblings to emmigrate, her sister turned her down. Years later, the sister's son came to study and wish to stay but is having a lot of difficulties. So he's blaming his mother for passing up the opportunity his aunt offerd. I did emphasize that if I file I-130, they won't be able to come to the US with a non-immigrant visa, I think my brother might be concerned that if ever his company sends him here for business trip, he won't be able to come.
So my question is, if I petition them and 10 years later they can apply for immigrant visa, can my niece come by herself? Or the whole family need to come together but my brother and his wife can give it up automatically by not living in the US? How would that impact my niece's immigrant status?
