Eventually it is my turn to say the magical word: approval for mine and my family's 485 cases.
This is the wonderful gift for me and my family for this holiday. Good luck to all of you here. Your turn will come soon.
Here is my long journey (3 years and 11 months in high anxiety) for sharing:
03/2001 Submitted LC application
10/2002 Approval of LC (10/2001 Company started layoffs, one time LC RFE, almost giving up for a Post Doc position, LC got approved before trying Extraordinary Ability case. My lawyer recommended I did not need Extraordinary Case for the sake of money. A very nice advice from a good lawyer (not a money sucker))
01/2003 Submitted 140 and 485 concurrently (slowed by holiday season)
02/2003 First finger print
05/2003 Approval of 140 (faster than what I expected)
11/2004 Second finger print
12/2004 Approval of 485 (just two days before Christmas)
I changed to a consulting job at 09/2004 but keeping my address. No RFE for 485. I think address changing would slow your case. I had a friend whose case (12/2002) was transferred to local office because he changed his job and his address. So keep your address as long as possible. Good luck to all of you in the coming new year.
