My dear friends, I am running out of my time as a J-1. I applied IGA waiver last May.
When you get the favorable answer from the Interested Government Agency (in my case is HHS, Dept. of Health & Human Services), can you immediately apply for H1 visa? Or you have to wait a favorable answer from the (DOS) Department of State?
If you need to wait an answer from DOS, how long it takes for DOS to give such an answer after the IGA’s answer?
