In the Hawaiian Language, Ukulele means "jumping flea." It is believed that in the days of old Hawaii, when one would play the instrument, their fingers would move so fast that they were like fleas jumping on the fretboard. When watching Jake Shimabukuro play the ukulele, it is obvious that he represents the name well. His fingers move so rapidly that they can hardly be seen. In Hawaii, this ukulele virtuoso is also known for his ability to draw the soul from the instrument. People often speak of how Jake can make a single note cry or even smile. I often ask myself,"How can one man perform such an amazing taste on this humble four stringed instrument?" by Dr. Trey, Sony Music Japan International, Inc.
