We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain –
We passed the Setting Sun –

Or rather – He passed Us –
The Dews drew quivering and Chill –
For only Gossamer, my Gown –
My Tippet – only Tulle –

We paused before a House that seemed
A Swelling of the Ground –
The Roof was scarcely visible –
The Cornice – in the Ground –

Since then – 'tis Centuries – and yet
Feels shorter than the Day
I first surmised the Horses' Heads

最后一句把虚拟语气翻译出来了。最近习惯译意，题目那我就翻译成：向死而生：）

这一句的意思可以再斟酌。不是只穿了一件衣服，太单薄。而是死亡的寒意，只有衣服是不可能抵挡和用来御寒的。个见

肯的七言翻译很棒！

落日预示衰老，人生日暮西山。比衰老更能带来的寒意的是死亡。诗中用了rather 将两者联系在一起。应该是诗人暗中的寓意。

是对死亡比较坦然，开头和结尾都提到永生，诗人狄金森是基督徒，有信仰的人，对待生死的态度自然不一样。

我们对这句where Children strove At Recess – in the Ring –的理解是不是有误

the Ring 会是铃声吗？

In the ring 是习惯表达吧。在竞技场上，在擂台上。这里翻译成在操场上就可以了吧。
