網上遇到的水準一流但鮮為人知的繪畫作品 中间小谢2022-02-23 00:16:48

 

 

時不時在網上看到這類從未在印刷品上見過的作品，水準之高令人不解它们為什麽没名氣。須分享一下。下面是其中一些：

 

A larger watercolor by the Spanish artist Joaquin Sorolla (索羅拉  1863-1923). Beautiful, beautiful, painted in his twenties. Most artists can't paint at this level in their mature years. Great masters are  typically technically amazing in their early years - an impression after viewing many artworks.

 

 

 

A small oil sketch by Theodore Rousseau (盧梭 1812 - 1867), a member of the Barbizon School which is an inspiration for the later impressionists. Rousseau's art has an epic quality, yet here he is more relaxed with his brush. A tenderer yet not less broad handling of nature.

 

 

Another small one by Rousseau. Powerful, just like his larger pieces.

 

 

 

A watercolor by Winslow Homer (荷瑪 1836 - 1910, American). Done almost with paints unmixed from the palette with the greatest control and confidence for the result.

 

 

 

A watercolor by Anders Zorn (佐恩 1860-1920), a Swedish artist very familiar to some Chinese art lovers. Exquisite, technically unmatched in this medium.

 

 

 

An very small oil by Honore Daumier (杜米埃 1808 -1879, French). Most of his works are in very limited dimensions, but always in epic character. Figures in his pictures appear like titans. I think he is Van Gogh's true or perhaps only equal.

An early still life by Van Gogh 梵高, as definitive as a Cezanne, as harmonious as a Chardin, true talent, though in a raw state.

 

 

 

 

A still life by Goya 戈雅, the awkwardness of originality is even seen in humble subjects.

 

 

 

 

A very small watercolor by Eugene Delacroix (德拉克洛瓦 1798-1863 ), the great French master painter. His watercolors have a simple but noble touch. Spontaneous, relaxed and precious.

 

 

 

A small oil sketch by the universally loved Corot 柯羅, as poetic and charming as usual, like a pearl. This one I did see in paper publications, but not frequently.  Small in format as it is, I really think it should be considered one of Corot's best works.
