This is our fourth annual hike deep in the mountains.  What makes this hike different from others is that, I did not hear a single complaint. Not only no complaint, my son encouraged me to go with him to go further and higher than planned. We spent the next additional  two hours trekking in solitude, and in silence.

Before my eyes, he became the scout. He was the first one to cross creeks, first one to spot loose spots, and slippery slope.

The entire mountain top belongs to two of us, father and son.  The meaning of this very moment will forever be with us.

On the way down, he commented  this is the best hike ever.  That was good enough for me.
