If you want a job at Google, it might help to get a degree from MIT or Harvard.

According to data from LinkedIn, there are 824 graduates of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who work at Google (Nasdaq: GOOG), which has 53,000 employees worldwide. IBM (NYSE: IBM) is the second-biggest employer of MIT graduates (452), followed by Oracle (362) and Apple (337).

The top employer for Harvard graduates? Also Google. According to LinkedIn, there are 500 Harvard graduates who hold jobs at Google. Other top employers of Harvard grads include Harvard Medical School (458) and McKinsey & Co. (393). Apple isn't a top employer for Harvard graduates.

 

Some other highlights from LinkedIn:

• Hopkinton-based EMC landed the greatest number of Northeastern University graduates (778).
• UMass Lowell had the greatest number of graduates getting jobs at Raytheon (358).
• The top employer for Boston University was Fidelity Investments (512), followed by IBM (507).
