A friend of mine applied for H-1B last month and was told by the lawyer it was approved yesterday, and she could start working right away. I am under the impression that the H-1B cap has been reached and the earliest possible date will be 10/01. So how is that possible?
She has a MS degree, will join an consulting firm (non-gov, non-educational), the salary is in the 53k range. She hasn't got the approval notice from the lawyer yet.
