My J-1 waiver is still in process and I have no idea when it will come through. My current j-1 visa will expire in 3 months. I could get my current visa extended for another 6 months from the same sponsor. My question is:
1. If I have my current visa extended now before the waiver is granted, do I have to apply for another waiver for the extended J1 visa?
2. If I have my current visa extended now before the waiver is granted, do I need to send the new DS 2019 to the waiver review division? If I do send to them, will my approved waiver cover the newly extended J1 visa? Or will the fact that I extended my j1 visa during the waiver process damage my chance to get a favorable recommendation?
3. What other options do I have?
