Please help! Enough time for H1B? diva982006-06-09 20:05:23

My current H1B will expire on Aug 1. I just found a new employer and will start the transfer process right away. Is there enough time to get the new visa to start on 8/1? Can I start to work for the new employer (a university) after I have the receive notice from INS or do I have to wait for the approval notice?
